Bleach Rash

Bleaching the skin is common practice among women wanting to lighten facial hair while also allowing the skin to glow and shine. Facial bleaching is used to improve the appearance of skin if a person has dark spots, blemishes, pimples, and tans. Many women are using skin bleaches to change their body complexions and attain a gorgeous look. Bleaching creams and products used on skin can also help to remove impurities on skin and things like blackheads. Skin lightening and bleaching products comprise chemical substances that limit the production of melanin and make an individual’s skin to appear lighter, but they also come with a price. They can cause a bleach rash.

The bleaches contain chemicals that if not used appropriately or used for an extended period of time, can cause damage to an individual’s skin. Those who bleach their skin often may complain of bleach rashes. The bleaches cause burning sensation and contribute to rashes on the skin. Some people may have sensitive skin that when bleached can develop bleach rash. A bleach rash can easily spoil the facial fairness you had attained by using facial bleaching creams. When the rash occurs, instead of having the fairly, glowing skin, it turns out you have ugly rashes.  That being said, there are some home remedies that you can try to help prevent and treat bleach rashes.

Bleach Rash Relief (Home Remedies)

The below home remedies can be used to provide relief when you have a bleach rash:

Aloe vera and honey in ice water:  The whitish gel that is extracted from aloe vera provides remedy for facial skin burns caused by skin bleaches. Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory properties as well as antiseptic properties to help with an infection. Take a bowl of ice cold water and add 1 tablespoon honey and aloe vera gel then mix the ingredients. Use cotton roll to soak it in the solution before you can apply on the skin. It will soothe the bleach burn rashes and begin to heal your skin.

Cold milk: Acids contained in facial bleach products may cause and worsen skin burns. Cold milk helps to neutralize the acids and reduce redness and soreness occurring on skin. It also helps reduce itchiness on skin. Using a cotton ball, soak it in cold milk and then dab it onto the burned skin. Let it remain on skin for about 15 minutes before you wash it off using cold water. This way, you will regain your natural skin look if skin bleach rash or burns have developed.

Potato peel: You tend to throw away the potato skin not knowing that they have beneficial effects on your skin. The peels of potato contain anti-inflammatory properties, so they can help heal facial bleach rashes. The peels also have vitamins and minerals that can help to nourish an individual’s skin. Take some potato peels and use them to cover the burned skin. Wait for about 30 minutes and remove the peels. You now rinse the face using water. This will help to clear the bleach rashes or burns.

Cucumber pack: Cucumber may be used to treat various skin related issues. The plant has cooling properties that can offer instant soothing effects on an individual’s skin. Just get some freshly picked cucumbers and slice them into cubes. Create a smooth paste by mashing or grinding the cucumber cuts. Take the paste and put it in a refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Use it to apply on the burned face. After about 45 minutes, wash it off using water. It will help to reduce skin soreness. It also helps reduce the rashes, inflammation, and irritations that come with use of facial bleach products.

Cold rinse: This is a simple way of calming burned skin due to facial bleaching. What you need to do is splash the inflamed, red area of skin with cold water. You may also consider using ice packs to rub them on the burned parts. Be careful because ice cubes can lead to frostbite or ice burns when used directly onto the skin.

Sandalwood pack: This natural remedy helps to treat bleach burns. You take sandalwood powder about 1 tablespoonful and mix with rose water or cold milk to create a paste. Use the paste to apply it on the face. You can leave it to rest on the face for about 45 minutes before you wash it off.  Sandalwood has anti-inflammatory and anti bacterial properties meaning it fights infections while soothing inflamed skin. It also reduces itching.

Coconut milk:  This has healing properties that help restore the damaged skin cells. Take fresh coconut then apply on the burned skin. Let it sit there until it dries before you wash it off. Coconut milk heals the skin and helps it attain a natural glow that could have been taken away by facial bleaches. You may also want to drink it regularly; it will help make the skin soft and smooth. It has nutrients needed for a healthy skin.

Multani mitti paste: Also referred to as the fuller’s earth, multani mitti helps to heal bleach rashes pretty quickly. Take 2 tablespoons and mix with cold rose water. Take the paste and apply it on skin for about 15 minutes before rinsing with water.

Baking soda:  You can use baking soda to get instant relief to reddened, inflamed skin. Take a mug, fill it using cold water and dissolve two tablespoons of baking soda. Take the mixture and splash or apply it on the face about 3 times a day. Because baking soda can dry the skin, you want to apply a moisturizer.

With these remedies, you can be able to treat bleach burns and restore the health of your skin. To prevent bleach rashes, you may want to avoid bleaching when the skin if too dry. Also avoid bleaching too frequently and exposing the skin to UV light from the sun for at least 8 hours after bleaching. Don’t bleach the skin after you have had a facial steam or hot bath and avoid using soap or some face wash at least 4 hours before and after skin bleaching. Use a well-hydrated moisturizer after the bleach to reduce dryness and itchiness of the skin.
